I will be presenting at the SWUG 2009 Conference. October 21-23 in Pueblo, CO, on A Critique of the National Standard for Spatial Data Accuracy

Together with Tim Hart of the University of Nevada Las Vegas I completed a study in August 2009 on the effect of residency restrictions on affordable housing for sex offenders in Miami for the American Civil Liberties Union. The study can be downloaded and has been submitted as part of the evidence in a lawsuit – for details on the lawsuit, see the Press Release. The Miami housing study has received some press coverage, including the Miami Herald and the Grimm Truth .

In Spring 2009 I was awarded the University of New Mexico University Libraries’ Faculty Acknowledgment Award – see the Press Release. At the acceptance on April 29, 2009  gave a presentation on location privacy.
